UNIT 4: MUSIC AND ARTS SKILLS 2 I/ OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students can: listen to get information about an artist, write an informal letter of invitation. 1. Knowledge: a. Grammar : - Review: : Simple past, How about + V-ing....? b. Lexical items : - Vocab: Lexical items related to the topic "Music and Arts" c. Pronunciation: 2. Skills: - Listening, Speaking, Reading,Writing and interactive skills 3. Attitude: - Cooperation, respect, having right and friendly attitudes with friends, teachers in the new school 4. Quality and competence: - Be confident and friendly with the new school environment - Develope listening, speaking skills and cooperative interaction II/ TEACHING AIDS (MATERIALS) 1.Teacher’s preparation: - Lesson plan, Pictures, posters ,textbook,CD-MP3(Computer-Multi projector/cassette/ “sách mềm”) and other materials 2.Students’ preparation: -Textbook, notebook, school things. Warm up - T explains Listening Tip to Ss, telling them if they are going to apply the listening tip, then they must be given time to take notes. Then tell Ss to look at the picture and say what they know about Picasso. . Activities II-Listening 1. Listen to the passage about Picasso and circle the words you hear (P45) - Look at the picture on page 45. - Do you know what it is? - What do you know about Picasso? - Today we are going to listen to a text about Picasso. - Before listening, guess four of the words in 1 P45 that you will hear in the text. - Compare with your partner. - Teacher elicits and writes students' guess on the board. - Teacher explains Listening Tip to students. - Listen to the text twice and check your guess. - Teacher gets feedback. 2. Listen to the passage again and choose the correct answers. (P45) - Run through all the questions. - Listen again and choose a correct answer. - Teacher checks their answer and explains if necessary. * Discussion ? Listening tip: When you listen, it is very useful to take notes. Try to note down the keywords ( important words). This helps you to remember the main ideas. 1.
