UNIT 1: My hobbies Lesson 4: Communication I/ OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students can: describe and give opinions about hobbies. 1. Knowledge: a. Grammar : - Review: The present simple and the present continuous b. Lexical items : - Vocab: School lexical items. c. Pronunciation: - 2. Skills: - Listening, Speaking, Reading,Writing and interactive skills 3. Attitude: - Cooperation, respect, having right and friendly attitudes with friends, teachers in the new school 4. Quality and competence: - Be confident and friendly with the new school environment - Develope listening, speaking skills and cooperative interaction II/ TEACHING AIDS (MATERIALS) 1.Teacher’s preparation: - Lesson plan, Pictures, posters ,textbook,CD-MP3(Computer-Multi projector/cassette/ “sách mềm”) and other materials 2.Students’ preparation: -Textbook, notebook, school things. III/ WORKING ARRANGEMENTS( WAYS OF WORKING ) - Pair work , individual work, group work, T-WC IV/ TEACHING PROCEDURE: 1-Greeting`and checking students’ adtendence: Total: In: ......... Practice 1.Match the activities... (P11) - Ss do this exercise individually and give T the answers. - Confirm the correct answers. 2.What do you think about... (P11) - Have the Ss look at Look out! Box. - Write some example sentences on the board and underline the two structures. E.g: I find swimming interesting Find + doing + sth + adj. They think (that) + doing sth + is + adj - Ss work individually and tick the appropriate boxes. Then, they move on to complete the five sentences. - St model the first sentence - Compare their sentences with a partner. - Ask some Ss to write their sentences on the board. - Other Ss and T give comments 3. Now interview a classmate... (P11) - Ss work in pairs to make conversations as in the example - Ss take turns being the person who asks the questions. This St has to note down his/her partner’s answers to report to the class - Some Ss report the answers to the class. IV. Production. *Game: Ss are divided into two big groups. - T says an activity/hobby and points at a student from one group. This St has to make a correct sentence, using the structure in the look out! Box together with a reason. - If he/she makes a correct sentence, he/she earns one point, then he/she point to other Ss from the other group. This St make sentence…. - T keeps record of the groups’ points on the board and announces the winner at the end of the game. V. Homework. Do exercises: C1,2 in the workbook - Prepare: Skill 1 1.
