a) \(\frac{5}{2} \times \frac{1}{3} + \frac{1}{4} = \frac{5 \times 1}{2 \times 3} + \frac{1}{4} = \frac{5}{6} + \frac{1}{4}\) (Multiplication is done first, plus is done later)

\(= \frac{5\times 4}{6 \times 4} + \frac{1\times 6}{4\times 6} = \frac{20}{24} + \frac{6}{24}= \frac{26}{24} = \frac{13}{12}\) ( make them have a common denominator then addition)

b) \(\frac{5}{2} + \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{1}{4} = \frac{5}{2} + \frac{1 \times 1}{3 \times 4} = \frac{5}{2} + \frac{1}{12}\)(Multiplication is done first, plus is done later)

\(= \frac{5}{2} - \frac{1 \times 4}{3 \times 1} = \frac{5}{2} - \frac{4}{3}\) (division is done first, subtraction done later)( Phép chia thực hiện trước, trừ thực hiện sau)
\(= \frac{5 \times 3}{2 \times 3} - \frac{4 \times 2}{3 \times 2} = \frac{15}{6} - \frac{8}{6}= \frac{7}{6}\)( make them have a common denominator then subtract) (quy đồng về cũng mẫu số rồi thực hiện phép trừ)
