Tree Rings Can Tell
Did you ever see a tree trunk that had been cut with a saw? Next time you see one, look at the rings on the end.
The rings begin in the center. They move out to the bark. Trees make one ring for every year they grow.
Tree rings tell the story of a trees life. Some years are dry years. The trees do not grow much. Rings that are close together tell  the story of dry years. Other years are wet years. The trees grow fast. Wide tree rings tell the story of wet years.
Count the rings of a tree, and you will know its age.
