Lesson 1: Getting started
I/ OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, students - listen and read the conversation about the series "Star Into Darkness" for details and then do some related exercises.

I. Presentation (10') 1. Vocabulary - Teacher use different techniques to teach vocabulary (situation, realia) - Follow the seven steps of teaching vocabulary

1. Listen and read (P58) * Introduction: ? Look at the pictures and the heading What could happen to Earth? but cover the text. - Brainstorm questions with Ss and write them on the board. Where are Duong and Nhi? What are they doing? What might they be talking about? - Listen to the conversation without reading the text to see if their predictions were correct. - Follow up with the same questions.- Accept all possible answers from Ss. Remember not to give correction at this stage. |
